Get to Know Dr. Julia White
With nearly a decade of dental experience, Dr. Julia White is ready to change the way you and your loved ones feel about going to the dentist one stress-free and fulfilling appointment at a time. Nothing makes her happier than getting to meet new people and help patients achieve their dental goals, and you’ll feel this passion from the moment you meet her. Before that, however, you can learn a little more about Dr. White below.
Why did you decide to become a dentist?
Dr. White literally grew up around dentistry in her native North Carolina. Her mother and grandmother were both dental hygienists, so she worked as a dental assistant in their dental offices throughout college and in high school, and she fell in love with the profession. Today, she’s thrilled to carry on their legacy by making it easier for local families to smile.
Where did you study dentistry?
After beginning her college education at Virginia Tech (where she kept busy thanks to being a cheerleader in addition to class), she eventually obtained her dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia through Virginia Commonwealth University. Always eager to increase her knowledge, she has since attended numerous training courses focused on cosmetic dentistry, occlusion, and the treatment of complex dental cases. She also maintains active memberships in a number of professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Lynchburg Dental Society, and SPEAR Education.
What do you like to do outside of the dental office?
Dr. White is married to her partner here at White Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, Dr. Brandon White, and together they have two young daughters whom they adore and who keep them very busy. When she can, she likes to go on dental mission trips to help underprivileged populations around the world, and she has previously worked with La Casa De Mi Padre Orphanage to serve children in El Salvador.
